Monday 28 July 2003 -- Brussels - Stockholm - Москва [Moscow] - Барнаул [Barnaul]
  Arriving in Russia : airport of Mockba.
  Check-in for night-flight to Barnaul.

Tuesday 29 July 2003 -- Барнаул [Barnaul] - Тюнгур [Tyungur]
  Early arrival in Barnaul.
  During the bus trip (700km), we have some time to eat an drink.
  Arriving in Tyungur : hiking into our basecamp.

Wednesday 30 July 2003 -- Тюнгур [Tyungur] (rest)
  Our rooms in the base camp.
  We have worked our muscles, time to return to Tyungur.
  Local people performing daily tasks.

Thursday 31 July 2003 -- Тюнгур [Tyungur] - Байда [Bajda] berg
  Still great views over Tyungur and Katun river.
  Our first lunch in the forrest.
  Some "wild horses" are passing through our camp site.

Friday 1 August 2003 -- Байда [Bajda] berg - Тюнгур [Tyungur]
  On top of Bajda mountain : 2070m.
  Somtimes we walk in a real flower paradise.
  The two day hike is over, time to wash.

Saturday 2 August 2003 -- Тюнгур [Tyungur] - Ороктой [Oroktoi]
  Preparing the start of the rafting.
  And the first group has started the rafting.
  The second group in one of the rappids .
  BBQ.

Sunday 3 August 2003 -- Ороктой [Oroktoi] - Тухман [Tukhman]
  Siberia does not show her best : rain and thunder.
  Looking back were we came from.
  After dinnner, briefing for the next day.

Monday 4 August 2003 -- Тухман [Tukhman] - Акташ [Aktash]
  On the pass, we meet some "wild horses".
  Great views into the valley.
  Camping around the fire.

Tuesday 5 August 2003 -- Акташ [Aktash] - Текелю [Tekelu]
  Down to Tekellu valley.
  The upper fall.
  the lower fall.

Wednesday 6 August 2003 -- Текелю [Tekelu] - Akkem lake
  This mornings walk : all muddy.
  Akkem lake, almost in the base-camp.
  Only need to cross the small river.

Thursday 7 August 2003 -- Akkem lake (Akkem glacier)
  1, 2, 17 : groupphoto, and in the background the highest mountain of Siberia.
  This is easier to cross the Akkem river.
  On the nose of the glacier, pitty the weather isn't cooperating.

Friday 8 August 2003 -- Akkem lake (rest)
  No weather to hike, so lets gather some fire wood.
  Some are leaving for a hike around the lake.
  En the evening ends with a sauna.

Saturday 9 August 2003 -- Akkem lake (Seven lake valley)
  The "White Mountain" that watches over "Seven lake valley".
  One of the highest lakes in the valley.
  Back down into Akkem valley.
  And a last look of the Beluka mountain.

Sunday 10 August 2003 -- Akkem lake - Каратюрек [Karatiurek] pass
  Last view over Akkem valley.
  Karatiurek pass : 3080m.
  En op weg naar de Kucherla vallei.

Monday 11 August 2003 -- Karatiurek pass - Kucherla lake
  The first glance of Kucherla valley.
  Almost on the campsite of Kucherla lake.
  New supply: meat, fruit, beer and cake for Sasha's birthday.

Tuesday 12 August 2003 -- Кучерла [Kucherla]-lake - Кучерла [Kucherla]-river
  The dayhike in onbe picture: 20km of mud.
  ... real mud.
  Speeches for the last night in the mountains.

Wednesday 13 August 2003 -- Кучерла [Kucherla]-river - Тюнгур [Tyungur]
  The last morning in Siberia: ice on the tents.
  The last kilometers to Tyungur.
  The trekking is over, time to rest.
  A little extra entertaining from one of the "horse-men".

Thursday 14 August 2003 -- Тюнгур [Tyungur] - Барнаул [Barnaul]
  Back to Barnaul, viewing the last small villages.
  Lunch break.
  Our hotel in Barnaul.

Friday 15 August 2003 -- Барнаул [Barnaul] - Москва [Moskou] - Санкт-Петербург [Sint-Petersburg]
  Between two flights, 30 minutes on "the red square".
  ... with Lenin, ...
  and the mall.

Saturday 16 August 2003 -- Санкт-Петербург [Sint-Petersburg]
  Isaaklevskaya place.
  Nevsky Prospect.
  Dvortsovaya place.

Sunday 17 August 2003 -- Санкт-Петербург [Sint-Petersburg] - Stockholm - Brussel
