Today a, early rise because we have reduced the walk yesterday with 2km. The breakfast is identical as yesterdays. Now the first kilometers follow we the canal that eventually ends up on unpaved road. Back in the civilized world. There is a tin-mine and a water station. As a result, trucks are driving back and forth on this road.
The backpacks are later picked up, so we can just leave them here. We walk 1.5 hours further to the village Yanacachi. Here the bus comes to pick up, which means another 3.5 hour drive to La Paz. A superb ride along the mountain ridges of the Andes. Incredibly that one has build road in these impenetrable valleys. Pity the fog limits the visibility from time to time.
At 1.15 pm we arrive in the hotel. We now have time until 2pm to eat a little snack. Because afterwards the ride to Copacabana is programmed (to the sister hotel of Rosario). Another 4 hours in a bus seat. On the trip we exchange our adventures with the group which has cycled to Coroico, and has been to Chacaltaya (5500m).
The trip over the altiplano is splendid, with many alternating colours, and snow covered mountains in the background. After some time along the Titicaca lake (we are still on 3800m altitude) we take the ferry to attain in Copacabana. Copacabana was a saint place for the old Inca's and is now for Aymaré indians and Christians
After entering our rooms in the rather luxurious hotel everyone takes a shower, resulting in a shortage of hot water quite fast. The sunset through the window is a beautiful highlight of this day.
With Britta we go eat something in town. We end up in the restaurant Kata Uta. It is very quiet and we are rapidly served. Of course fish is ordered. After a mail to Europe it's again past bed time.
