Reykjavík - Skógar

As said last night: an early rise at 6AM to take a (last) shower before heading to out trail. After breakfast we are ready to take the 7:15 bus to the airport. Here we have to wait another hour for our bus that will drive us to Skogar (estimated 3 hours). After some stops, postal deliveries and a drive along the beautiful southern coast we can disembarge at 11:20. Stepping through some wet grassland, we can arrive at the site where we need to set up our tents. Just in front of the waterfall... Magnificent...
Johan, Jo and Karin will search for a shop to get food for tonight. They have to hitch-hike 7km. The other can take a near look of this big waterfall.
When the whole group is back at the campsite, we will take an cultural axcursion in this tiny settlement: a nice museum about ancient Iceland (including an old fishing boat, and som older grass-covered houses) and a beautifull church.
Back at our tents, it's time to test our cooking equipment, but only two out of the three fire (gasoil) are working and we won't be able heat everything at the same time...
But the lamb-meat is still beter then what we will have during the next six day (dried food).
At 10PM some of us have enough energy to hike to the top of the waterfall to have a great view over the site... the rain during the night doesn't bother us, we will be happy if we can walk in dry weather...
